We have not cut the cord here, but occasionally our TV provider drops out or gets in a snit with a wholesaler and some of the channels disappear..... just before the Big Game. So I set up a simple double dipole antenna on a stick sitting behind the TV. We use it to pick up the OTA channels to watch the news and the Big Game in those situations.
I originally set up the antenna by guessing and rescanning, and that worked fairly well. Living in the suburbs of a major metropolitan area, the signals are strong. But we do get noise and dropouts frequently, so I purchased the AntennaMan signal meter to see if I could do better.
Long story short, the signal meter worked as advertised. I ended up rotating the antenna about 90 degrees, and the dropouts are gone. All the major channels come in solid now. We don't use the antenna very often, but when we need it, it is nice to know that the channels will be solid.
Constructive feedback: The unit gets quite warm when it works, so be careful where you put it if you use it as a tuner. Also, the power cord is short (about 30 inches), but a cheap extension cord fixes that problem.
I won't be using it very much since the antenna is now set up properly, but it was well worth the purchase price to get the problem resolved.

As a guy who has always prided himself on having the biggest and baddest antenna setup in my area I've said for years that somebody should make a device like this and here it is! It works great and has made my life so much easier when it comes to tuning in channels. I highly recommend this device to anyone with an antenna. You won't be disappointed 🙂
Thank you for the fast service and great support. Very informative.
The signal meter works as advertised and has proven very useful. One minor issue is the light weight materials the housing is made of, so handle with care. I would have given it four and a half stars if only judge.me had made it possible.
Why I Built This Meter
Hey, Tyler here — also known as the Antenna Man. For years, I’ve helped millions of people cut the cord and get free TV with just an antenna. But there’s always been one frustrating part: finding the best signal.
Too many people give up because their antenna isn’t pointed in the right direction — or they waste hours scanning, rescanning, and still miss out on channels they should be getting.
So I decided to fix that. I built a signal meter that actually works — something I wish everyone had when setting up their antenna. My dream? Help even more people cut the cord for good… and actually enjoy free TV the way it’s meant to be.
My mission stays the same: to help people cut the cord — and I truly believe this product will help even more of you do just that.

Let’s Clear Things Up
What does the signal meter actually do?
It shows you the real-time signal strength from your antenna, so you can adjust it and instantly see which direction gives you the best reception — no more rescanning or guessing.
Will it help me get more channels?
Yes — when your antenna is pointed in the optimal direction, you can often pick up channels you weren’t getting before. That’s what this tool is designed to help with.
Is it hard to use?
Not at all. Just plug it in between your TV and antenna. That’s it. Plus, every order comes with instructions and a full video tutorial where I walk you through how to set it up and use it properly.
Do I need to buy anything else for it to work?
Nope. If you already have a TV and an antenna, you’re good to go. Just connect the signal meter in between, and you’re all set.
Will this work with all antennas?
It works with most antennas that connect via coaxial cable — which is the standard type used for over-the-air TV.
What if I have questions or need help?
I’ve got you covered. The setup video answers most common questions, but if you’re stuck, just reach out via email — I’m here to help.
